That's Hmann's new Destiny hair, available from Daz. It's on sale for about $7. It has a lot of shaping options I'll have to practice with. I've also finally implemented bagginsbill's tutorial on shadow map cameras, and it does make a big difference. In fact, it sharpens the shadows so much that it's probably time to start rendering shadows separately and layering them in post for greater blending control. Hmann's hair in particular casts some very strong shadows; you can see remnants in her left eye which I tried to soften in postwork. Lastly, I added a single IBL light (20% Intensity, no image mamp) to my usual 3 infinite light setup, and it seemed to brighten things up nicely. Still plenty to learn about all of this stuff...
