Description
"The Moon Maiden has taken off her wings and celestial clothing to bathe in the Sea of Suruga's shore, only to have them stolen by a fisherman. Without her wings she cannot return to the heavens, but the fisherman doesn't want to give them back. He finally agrees, under the condition that she perform a dance from the Heavenly Court. She does so and ascends back to heaven as she dances...."
Excerpt from Japanese fairytale.
The mountain is from a photograph I took of Dillon Mountain, Colorado that I turned into a brush. The background and all postwork was done in Photoshop CS2.
This series is my tribute to APAH Month. May is Asian Pacific American (APA) Heritage Month
