I was born in Zimbabwe on 03/06/88. My family, consisting of parents, older brother and sister, migrated to South Africa when I was six months old. We moved back to Zimbabwe six years later, to help my grandparents on their farm - a career change for my father.
After a measly eighteen months we upped sticks and went farming on our own. This led us to Kwekwe, in the heart of Zimbabwe, to farm tobacco! Borrowdale farm which is part of the "Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy" is where we settled . This was the most incredible experience, living with such an abundance of wild life ........... of which we became a part of during the school holidays! Due to the "land redistribution policy" we had no option but to move on.
10th November, 2001 saw us arrive in New Zealand with our former lives packed into a suitcase each, ready to start our new lives. Our first three years were spent on the South Island and I nearly froze!!!!!!! A great employment opportunity for my father had us move up to the North Island. I now live on a farm just outside Matamata aka "Hobbiton" (defrosting).
Yep that should sum it up ha!

Beautiful moody photograph

Moody and serene - but yes, a tad flat it is. But not enough to make it boring! :)

I'm with Klause. Just a tad flat. But you work with what you've got and there are wonderful tonalities and textures here.

I like it very much....wonderful shot! The water looks fantastic!
mojo1917
Yeah, I don't know of anyone who can whip up the perfect sky on demand. this is a super photo with great mood and the textures in the water make up for what ever the sky lacks.

I think it all fits very nicely together. I like what the b&w did to the water.. made it dreamy looking. Nice shot!

Beautiful and calming... nothing more I can say...

Beautiful exposure buddy! Nice choice on the B&W conversion, really brings out the texture in the rocks which adds to the soft capture on the water in contrast, thanks for sharing!

wonderful landscape and splendid photo!

Beautiful...

Wanderful B&W seascape, I think the sky is very good, if it be more dramatic the photo would loose the overall balance.

yummy texture contrasts here - i'm going to be out trying this style later with long exposures and the waves :) Looks great in black and white and i think the sky is alright actually - if it were more "vibrant" i think there would be too much going on in the shot...

Fantastic in b&w composition ! :)

Nothing looks flat with this to me, its beautiful :)
Cosine
Yeah, maybe the sky could use a bit more contrast, but it is what it is. B&W was perfect for this one.

It's the POV that does it for me, here. I barely noticed the sky. I suppose you could tweak it in PS if you really wanted to, but I don't think it's necessary. The image is strong enough just like this. KIT, KtK....-M :^)

i prefer your colours photography... btw this black and white is excellent too! perfect timing and awesome place!
