Description

Hello all! I regularly post my work and comment on others work on this and one other site. Due to time constraints I need to pull back on One. My last 4 posts here garnered 162 viewsfor an average of 40 views per post, while at the other site my previous 4 had 1519 views or an average of 379 views per post. :P So, I guess you can tell which site I will continue to post on a regular basis. I feel Renderosity needs to make some constructive changes. I suggest limiting the posts per person to 10 a month. That way each post would get more exposure time rather than getting lost 3 pages back within hours. It would also encourage people to post only their best work, so the quality would improve dramatically. I will still try to post 1 a week if possible for the people here that enjoy my work. I'm NOT leaving, just cutting back.

I fully understand your point, John... it's also difficult for me to catch up with all the pictures... I really do hope that this will not be your last post here... As you may know, I love and collect swan images, and this one should have a special place in my file ! cygne_005.gif

Fantastic clear and detailled shot. Wonderful colors and light. Excellent!! I understand you point too, a picture limit is an aspect to think about.

Just because people don't comment doesn't mean they don't enjoy your work John. Time is the enemy of us all. Lovely brunette swan here. :)

TwoPynts..... I didn't mention comments. It's the lack of views caused by the astronomical number of posts every day. I have a rotten dial-up connection which makes it even harder just to find my favorite artists works let alone other fine images that I miss everyday. I would rather have more viewing time per image. I truly understand that we can't comment on everything we enjoy.

It's a pity renderosity isn't your preference, however, your reasons for it make sense and are understood. I too try to keep tabs, but unless one has an abundance of time it's very hard to not only view new posts, but also look through someones gallery. Although there is the function of viewing 'Most Viewed', 'Most Commented', etc. It might be also nice to have break downs like 'Most viewed in last 24hrs/past week' etc etc, just like Youtube does. I think this way images which stand above the rest get the deserved viewing. Food for thought. Great shot btw!

gorgeous work. I guess I like the small town feeling here where we all know each other and feel comfortable with not just our work and talent, but with the artists and their lives. I could go all out for exposure time and most views, etc. but I find that I get good solid hints, critiques and ideas from those who comment. That's all I need. But we all have our different reasons for posting and I wish you well.

Great work as always... I know your feelings all to well about posting here. Many artists work gets buried or underappreciated, while less deserving pieces reap in hits and accolades. Ive never been able to figure it out. I hope you continue to post here for those who do appreciate and look forward to seeing your work.

I fully understand where you are coming from. And talent shouldn't be held back! I would love to know what site you've found, I would like to pay it a visit. About your shot: I love the detail in the feathers and the way the light places interest on them.
