Description

My Favorite friend,My Macado LLamma died yesterday..We have been nursing him back to health after he was stricken with white muscle disease,a lack of certain minerals in his diet..wich actually has effected all our heard,but Macado was the oldest and first to show symptoms..and because i couldnt be there 100% of the time he died..I am sick..apperantly he was startled or just lost balance and tipped over on his side(From a sitting position) and couldnt right himself because of his week condition..and because of the way they digest with multiple stomachs he couldnt stay in that position long...i found him on his side dead..and i only was gone to get medical supplies for an hour or so but that was enough...i still cant believe it...I love our animals and would do anything to keep them healthy...but i have failed here miserably....sorry to dump this on you all but he was my buddy...and he needs his moment of rememberance..i will never ever forget... Top image is Macado,and the bottom image is the other 5 LLammas(Merlin,Magic,Mabooba,Joe and Habenaro) (if you look hard enough)...The barn is made of redwood logs from the forest floor and recycled garage doors..

Macado was our public relations LLamma and would be the first to greet you and loved to be petted and loved people visiting in general,he had an unusual voice for a llamma and hummed a bit like a donkey while the rest of the heard made beautiful soft hums..he loved to give my daughter Alice soft kisses and loved to go for walks in the forest to graze on redwood and sweetpeas.He was the best with his silly overbite and lanky llamma look.I will always love and remember him..

I love llamas!!! great capture!!! I know what you mean! He will be remembered! Don't feel guilty - there are a lot of places in the world where selenium is defficient in the soil and few people know about it.. so if you feed your llamas on gras and legumes than they have it... but it is not your fault so don't blame your self!!!

The first time I've ever been close to a Llamma is up here in the mountains - several people have herds and they are such sweet and interesting animals. It is so sad you lost your Macado and is obvious how much you loved him. Animals really give us such joy, break our hearts when they leave, and become a part of us forever. CC

Gee Bill, I'm so sorry to learn of your heartbreaking loss. We all grow very attached to our pets and they become part of our family, so it is true saddness that we feel when they pass away. I wish you and your family the best. I lost one cat last year and I have another that is dying from cancer, so I can understand how you are feeling, and I'm sure you gave him a wonderful life, and did all you could for him.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your buddy! Our animals grow to mean as much to us as our kids and when we lose one, it's heartwrenching. I don't see his passing while you were gone as your failure. I see his passing at a moment while you were gone as his opportunity to let go, cuz had you not left, he may have hung on and suffered just to keep with you.
