So how several days later this came about I'll never know. I know there are mistakes (I prefer to think of them as learning opportunities, heh) but all in all I am happy with how this turned out. With that said I would still love to hear any comments and suggestions you all might have for in the future. On a side note the background was my first attempt at "speed painting" with a tablet. I had a mostly muted, kind of watercolored backdrop in mind and it came out pretty damn close to what was initially stirring around in my head. What started out as an uber simple render ended up being one of my most postworked images. To see the difference check out the original in my DA scraps: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/56007416/ EDIT 05/27/07: OK I've known my monitor was slowly dying on me but I guess I underestimated how bad it currently is. Looking at this image on several other monitors has shown me a lot of the detail and background depth was lost in the fact that to others this image looked much darker. I've adjusted my monitor calibration tool to correct some of the issues and touched up the image to get it back to where I want it. Thanks. Now I'm off to Newegg to price a new monitor...
