Description
I had not intended this abstract to be of the river but it became the river anyway. Can't get it off my mind. Fantastic trip, most rapids were class II and none of us turned over but on the worst of the drops my kayak swallowed 5 gallons of water. We hiked from the river, up 100 feet and about a mile to Hemmed in Hollow Falls, 200 plus feet high. The small stream of water was so high that the wind blew it from side to side and it was hard, very cold rain, by the time it hit the rocks at the bottom of the canyon where we stood. One of my sons took a shower in it and looked like he had been shot with BBs. 6 hour float. Looked at the Mulberry River for the holiday weeked but they said after the rain in could be class V. I asked how hard was that and was told "you might come back alive." We've chosen a new destination. I will post some pics my frinds have taken in a collage since I didn't take a camera. Thank you all for the well wishes. I wish I could take you all on the river with me.
