Description

To celebrate the DVD release of Pan's Labyrinth, a brilliant movie I dearly love, I decided to do some fan art of the wonderfully designed Faun character. Hand painted in Paint Shop Pro 9. I originally started this using the chalk and smear Art Media tools in Paint Shop Pro 9 only to find out when I later saved to take a break that they have a VERY annoying drawback: When you save the file, it turns the art media layer to raster and you can't edit it with the art media tools anymore. >-< SO I had to switch methods halfway through using modified air brush and smudger settings instead. The piece was challenging because I was painting in white over a pure black background and I don't usually do that. I'm happy with how it turned out despite some obvious flaws like being a bit lopsided.

Very cool tribute to an exceptionally well designed character. Never used PSP so I don't know if you can save as a PSP file to rework without rasterizing. I know this can be done with Photoshop.
