Description
One of the most famous and evocative castles in Britain, Bodiam was built in 1385, as both a defence and a comfortable home. The exterior is virtually complete and the ramparts rise dramatically above the moat. Enough of the interior survives to give an impression of castle life. There are spiral staircases and battlements to explore and wonderful views of the Rother Valley from the top of the towers. In the impressive gatehouse is the castle's original wooden portcullis, an extremely rare example of its kind

Ah Bodiam, my favourite castle. Really can't go wrong with the wonderful moat; too bad it was windy, as the ripples remove most of the reflection. Well framed shot.

It seems they don't have make they're minds. Round and square towers are not allowed in my country. (In the same castle) Unless build into a roman fortress or a muslim castle. The first it's the best guest for me. The 2nd override. But like you wrote "an extremely rare example of its kind". AGREE!

great real great i visit only Tamworth Castle nothing more but your`s great
