Description

The Sun close to the horizon can be red because of the heavy molecules of our atmosphere, are added there the molecules of origin "human pollution" which act as filter. It is absorption. As regards the deformation of the solar disc, it true dimension is in its width. Vertically, it is shortened by effect of refraction in our atmosphere since its light crosses a layer of air more significant than during the remainder of the day. There is another phenomenon which names the diffraction which suits him to break up the white light in all the colors of the rainbow at the time of the rising like sleeping. It is at this time that one can observe the green ray. The Sun, like Full moon, appear always enormous to us at the time of the rising and sleeping. It is only one optical illusion generated by the brain which uses at this time, the horizon of the observer like reference frame on human scale. To be convinced some it is enough to turn the back, to look at the head with back while bending down between the legs
