Eyes Of Despair Baby hold me Hang on A smile is seen Around the corner Each time Sadness walks in I crumble to the ground Curled in a ball Tears of the sea A whimper Never heard before Secret loneliness of hurt Mind slowly wanders To another time A different place Afraid of losing Of who I am Desert rain Monsoon wind Shake the lands Wet sand pebbles Slash across my skin Water running All over the place Monster winds Rainy days Silent dunes Wake me up Sandman comes Tonight Another time Another place Point of no return The desert rain Monsoon winds Wet sand pebbles Slashing across my skin Thunderstruck me As I looked to the sky Trying to find shelter Silent cries heard In the flesh Soaked skin to the bone Felt the downpour No where to go Came to life I left that place behind Baby hold me Hang on A smile is seen Around the corner

What powerful imagery and expression. Your poem transports me into the scene described. While physically uncomfortable, I have a strange sense of wellbeing at being able to feel the force of nature. It seems so cleansing and purifying. And when the storm is over, it is like rebirth and clarity of vision. Wow! Excellent work Linda. Hugs and a big smile, Suzanne x:)
