Description

Back to the 1940s/1950s again! I don't know if you agree with me, but I think the ladies were so smartly dressed in the 1950s, although I am not so sure about the fur (being an animal lover). Have a lovely weekend one and all! Eileen xx

what do you mean 50s and 40s? I still tend to dress this way when I go out. I have no problem with animal furs as long as its not fur from wild animals or endangered animals. Ranching is no problem. Great shot.

Eileen, a superb shot!! She is so elegant and lovely. Magnificent work from you. I have huge problems with animal furs of any kind. Love PINK fun-fur though!!! Have a peacefilled weekend. My love to and to Ian. Diane. xx

Another super portrait of yours. As mentioned before and I cannot say it enough, you certainly have a way of making your subject matter feel comfortable and therby achieving a super portrait. Regarding your thoughts about the dress code, I feel similare feelings, missing the day when a woman dressed smart and espcially wore a hat. Even the swing music of the 40's, the rock-and roll of the 50's were a great time. The 60 with all the British exports was a banner decade and after the real heavy rock and roll, music somehow died. I am going to correct myself, for when I first mentioned this series should be as a du-tone in order to reflect the times of that period, well, after seeing all of the series up to this point, I am reversing my positioncolour is right after all! Thank you for sharing. egmont

All those tailored clothes were so elegant! And I love the color here--especialy the blue eyes to match her blue hat!

exceptional portrait of an extremely beautiful lady.I was around in the 50's but do not remember how women dressed.I can remember seeing my father when I was about 5 but everything thing else is a blur.of course it was 49 when I was 5

Sharp, vivid colors/colours and lighting worthy of any fashion model portfolio captured in this fantastic portrait, young lady! The way the average person dressed back in the forties and fifties make our present generation look like slobs in comparison. On the other hand, the makeup and hair styles of today are far superior to those of half a century ago and beyond.
