Description
This is the illustration from chapter 1 of a novel, called "Vortigern: A Tragedy", that I've been working on for a while now in the tiniest moments of free time that I get.
Since I doubt I'll ever finish, much less get it published I'm posting it on my website:
The Wrong Result
An excerpt from the chapter where this scene happens:
After gently tumbling over short rocky falls, the stream formed a pool. Bathing in the pool was a woman. She stood ankle deep in the turbulent water while she rinsed her hair. On her body loosely hung a deerskin tunic, which exposed far more skin than was considered appropriate for a civilized woman. That skin was the focus of Britu's gaze and the source of his concern. Her whole body appeared to be covered in intricate blue tattoos. This bathing woman was a Pict.
