Isn't the iris the fleur de lis? I would expect to see lots of them in France. But what do I know, lol. Beautiful capture. The coloring is so true to life..

The intense colors near the throat of this with the rich, deeply lined crotch is marvelous and exciting. This is something most of my cultivated irises don't have. They have frilly, large, upright petals but even though the colors are varied and vivid, this patterned marking is not nearly as strong on mine. great shot.
