Description
Legend has it that the stone goddess in the woods will come to life with only one gift. Many have tried but none as hard as he. He has tried all gifts he can think of. The animals ate the food, water evaporated, and now he is attempting gold. Maybe one day he will realize the only gift that will work is one he has carried for years just has not offered it......... i like the stone figure and the trees. if the guy is holding the orb then his thumb needs to be see-able so that it looks like hes holdin it, cos how it is now it looks just smacked in the middle of the pic :D

Ill take it as a first try. The scene has been well stated; theres a fine correspondance between foreground and background elements. Now, I guess it would be a great help if basic lights were redefined; as it is now, it seems as if there were lights sources coming from different directions and/or with the same intensity. Textures, especially the gold baloon and male pants, should be reconsidered, also. Anyway, the image catches perfectly with the story behind, and thats a very good start.

Interesting composition and nice story. You might try using a procedural grass, or using some grass props to give more depth to the ground. (There was a discussion about growing grass in the hair room, and also one on using displacement mapping for producing grass. Also, I think that the man's knee looks odd, it sinks into the ground.
