Description

Here i am back in black and white mode... the shot just didnt look like i wanted it to in colour, i'll let you work out why. This was an afternoon out with a mate playing golf... i do play golf myself but decided not to this time and just walk around taking pictures of him playing as i dont have that much time left up here and have always wanted to take shots like this. This is on of two shots i got from that outing which i liked (tho there might be more; i havent really gone through them with a toothpick yet ;)) I tried taking the impact shot again and wen i did it from a different angle i realised how much luck is involved... at full swing the frame rate of my camera captures shots at intervals of about 1/4-1/3 of the full arc of the swing - and when you are trying to capture something to the accuracy of a centimetre that is a LOT =\ Anyway - thanks for your comments on yesterday's upload i wasnt sure how that would be received. Enjoy! Rich

Nice Image Rich. I like the use of black and white and the texture in the grass. Good luck with capturing the impact shot. I take pictures of people on the 1st tee of the old course 2 or 3 times a week and I would guess that less than 10% of the images end up having the ball in the shot let alone the point of impact. The camera we use does 9 frames per second so catching that moment with a slower camera will take good luck or great skill. I am sure you will get it one way or the other. I look forword to see it. A great shot in b&w and the shadows really add that extra dimension to the image. Bravo!

Superb textures on the grass and lovely light/shadows too. I love this in B&W and couldn't imagine it in colour, so why you chose not to use it is beyond me anyway!!! Excellent capture and enjoy what time you have left up there - Belated congrats on your results too - well done!! xx
