Description

OK sure, maybe living in Hawaii would be a dream come true for many people but for me its awful. This picture kinda reminded me of home (other then the mountains along the horizon, we didn't have mountains... just a nice view of Canada and the Blue Water Bridges.) I did render this without the mountains but I didn't like it as much as this one so we'll just call it 'Homesick' with some added love :P Granted if Canada had those mountains I'd probably up and move myself there but thats another image, another story LOL Hope you guys like, this is my second attempt with Terragen. I'm still trying to learn the basics so I haven't advanced to anything new and exciting :P Thanks for lookin'!

Nice view... I haven't worked with Terragen at all. I wouldn't mind learning, but for now I am trying to learn other things.... I believe that you are on your way to great adventures with that program... Keep us posted with some of your renders...

Youve made a good picture with this "attempt". I know that since we have this powerful sunset backlight its somehow difficult to see any details but Id like to see some mountain reliefs. Maybe the mountains are too thin and dont reflect very well the 3D perspective. You should try by increasing values on its Z axis to make them wider. Anyway, as it is by now, its a nice landscape to look at.

A well-done attempt. The only slight critique is that the mountains are just a black silhouette, but getting the light right is never easy. It still looks very good.

Excellent image. Love that sunlight and water reflection. Yes we do have montians here. They are the Rocky Mountians on the west coast. So, does that mean you'll move here? Yes! LOL

I think the reason for the silhouette is the light may be a bit too harsh. Of course I haven't tried Terragen yet so feel free to smack me around ^^ Very good job! On a related note, thank goodness I am not homesick. Although where I live now is backwards to put it lightly, and the air is now officially thick as soup thank you Barry, I'll leave home at home. Now if all my friends would come down here...... ^^

I know you're homesick. Why didn't you try the bridges? Hope you get to home soon.

I am whit Terragen a bloody newbie. So i cant give any suggestions. ;) But i like the water. I think the mountains need some other lights..but dont ask me how you can do it. LOL

Don't know a thing about Terragen (I use MojoWorld) but this is a very nice render! I really like the lighting and the way it dances/reflects off the water. Very nice.

This is an excellent shot at terragen. When i first started using it, my images did look pale and whitewashed when i used heavy backlit sun in the horizon. A veteran user of the program clued me in, that terragen almost always renders out "washed out". To correct this, in photoshop go to images/adjustments then click "auto levels". Voila, your details will show up!

Really nice volumetrics and the water looks great. I think the color range is pretty narrow for my taste, but I can picture it as an early morning foggy scene. Very lovely.
