I shot this with a 20D, two extension tubes, 50mm f 2,5 and the canon ringlight to light it up.
asa/iso 200 (and the image is a cropping so pardon the somewhat grainy appearance)
As I was on my knees waiting for something interesting to shoot with this ant as the main subject, I all of a sudden got a couple of HUGE semi opaque legs coming into the frame that rattled me. It turned out to be a spider walking about.
When you have seen the world from this angle, and this kind of magnification you truly have a newfound respect for nature. Atleast I get that everytime I'm on my knees seeing all the tiny things that goes on under our feet on a day to day basis. This image took me a good 30 minutes to capture and get right. I waited for the ant to "assume" the position I had in mind and captured it. I have to admit that my knees were killing me in the end, but it was truly worth it.
