I think this could have been taken with more contrast in mind. I'm not an expert on this stuff but the snail shells are too well lit and their bodies blend too well with the ground. I have been told that sometimes a flash used will help define things in a lighted situation. Maybe in postwork you can balance out the contast a little more. I really like this compo and I wish the snails were more distinct! I think you got a great basic shot here!
