Description

Nikon 7900 image. Yesterdays posting of a Ladybug in flight was a neat image but not a very good photo. Hopefully, todays post is almost as good an image and is obviously a better photo, lol. I have photos of ladybugs that were yellow or orange or red and even one that was red on one side and orange on the other...some with spots and some without; but this pair were the first ones I have ever seen that were almost pinkish. In addition to that, this pair also had the same redish pink color on their heads. Every ladybug I have ever seen before had only black or white on their heads. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

Great capture indeed - perhaps their heads were pinkish because they were blushing being captured in the "act"!! Superb macro. xx

That's not a Lady Bug, it's a predatory beetle that only has the dots in common with the Lady Bug. Forgot the scientific name, it's almost 40 years ago I learned this at high school, an example of "reverse mimicry" we were told. Oh, a very nice shot BTW!
