After many attempts to penetrate Zach's subconscious mind, Seron found herself becoming too 'distracted' by Zach's non-compliance and had her underling, the 'Bus Driver', remove him from her suite.

Her orders were to have Zach left in an inebriated condition at one of the less friendly night clubs on spaceport asteroid w11967.

The Bus Driver, always having an agenda of his own and risking the wrath of Seron, disobeys her command and sends a communique to the Dauntless informing its Captain he has rescued a drunken crew member of the Colonial Fleet, and for a small fee will return Zach to the Dauntless before this matter becomes known to the public.

Captain McTyme agrees.

All 'Earth' launched vessels are synchronized with the Earth's thirty-four hour 'new solar day' for shift rotation only.
It is night shift on the Dauntless when the Bus Driver rendezvous with the ship.

As Zach is brought aboard, he collapses, being injured badly.
The Bus Driver had beaten him while he lay unconscious in the rear compartment of his shuttle prior to docking.

The new Medical officer, Priestess Zowie S tends to Zach's wounds, and having strong telepathic powers, she senses the 'touch' of Seron's essence about him.
Realizing if Pawn touches Zach at this time, she will truly know where and whom he had been with, so she insists on keeping him in isolation for the time being. To make matters worse, Captain Tucker M. starts preaching to Zach, telling him 'boozer's are losers along with a slew of ancient proverbs. ;) Down the corridor, Pawn, having listened in on the conversation prior to the shuttle docking, gains access to deck six unnoticed through a service/utility hatch.
With her extreme telepathic abilities, Pawn now knows the truth.......and will deal with her fiancé....(and mother)... later. *L*....The emotional side of Science Fiction....or whatever... ;)
