Description

"The Flying Crone", written by Lexa Langcanton of Tara Dementia is one of the best known ghost stories throughout the Fartherthantruth Alliance. The central character was a being of demonic proportions, Calibangorgeen, the captain and owner of the Flying Crone. The story teems with mixed metaphors and bits and pieces of mythology from various cultures resulting in a fine fiction. "The Flying Crone" takes place in a bygone time before recorded history in the land of Umlackalacka. Calibangorgeen snatched away "naughty" children in the middle of the night. Many parents admonished their children with the misfortune of other youngsters, who the Calibangorgeen on her flying ship would "swoop up" and deposit on 'Subreptionpalterer', her island in the sky. The children were then pressed into the service of toiling in the mines, repairing buildings, and manning "The Flying Crone". It was later discovered that "The Flying Crone" was never based upon any known mythology. It was merely a story written by Langcanton to fill space in a bogzine that lit the flickering imaginations of people starved for a good story. Lexa Langcanton was the pen name of Zander Vilegang, the Chief Justice of the Perpetual Court of Hubristic Monism set up during the reign of Queen Oh Negative.
