Description
This shot was taken from the West Cliff in Whitby, North Yorkshire, UK. You can see the 199 steps snaking down from the Abbey with just a solitary figure in view. St. Mary's Church stands in front of the Abbey and those with good eyes will see a graveyard just below to the right.
For your information, Bram Stoker based his famous book Dracula in Whitby. He finished the book in 1897 and the Dracula connection accounts for two Goth festivals in Whitby which are usually in April and October. Thousands of Goths
come to Whitby and it's great for the local economy. It's also great to see their wonderful costumes.
