I like your style, dymamic work and beautiful light ^__^

While this is an awesome scene it suffers from not having people on board the ship or the odd light or two. A bit of lightning would have improved the sky too. However, 5

Very realistic rendition of heavy weather and sea conditions very well done!!! Just as a matter of interest, not a criticism, most sailing ships would reduce to having well reefed Topsails rather than the Topgallants as you have depicted for two reasons, less strain on the rigging and safety of the crew where movement of the ship would be extreme at the top of the mast. All in all a great picture which is going straight into my favourites!!!

A good effort. I have to agree with Watchman2005. With the winds twice as strong further up the masts, the danger to the foretopmen who would reef the sails would be extreme. The corkscrewing of the masts would be doubled, leading to a crewman possibly being thrown off the yards as the masts whipped back and forth. Also, the usual sail rig for serious storms would be not the t'gan's'l's (slang for TopGallantSails)as shown, but the set of sails one yard below, known as the Courses, or ForeCourse, Main and/or Mizzen Courses. Usually these, the forward bowsprit JibSails and the aft Mizzen Spanker, or Driver, sails were all that would be used to just keep minimum steerage, for fear of "tearing the sticks outta her" (dismasting the ship). I think the surging green water is a great effect. As is the massive rogue wave looming up behind the ship. As for the missing crew, I think they realize the end is near and have gone down below, brooched the liquor stores and are roaring drunk, waiting for the last dive to meet "Davey Jones"......LOL
