During the past year and a half, while conducting our study on the psychological behavior of online art communities, we appear to have attracted a few very undesirable and ruthless characters. On Bealtaine Eve, April 30th, 2007, we conducted a binding ritual. Bealtaine Eve is one of only two days in the year where the veils which separate the worlds are at their thinnest, and energies can easily pass between one and the other. We knew that we would be able to offer up in effigy these characters, thus sending their "negative energy" out and away from us. This "negative energy", once it was burned in the chafer, wafted away, and was immediately replaced with constructive energy which is more easily worked with. Soon, we will be burying the "remains" of these characters, thus laying to rest the "negative energy" that they brought into our circle. This image is only a part of our Altar.
