I live in East Yorkshire in England, near to what was known as "bomber county" in WW2 for the number of bomber bases hereabouts. Last summer, the UK-based Lanc used to fly out over my house every weekend. You could hear the 4 merlins as it approached....magical.....!

Paul, I have had the joy of flying in a C47(DC3), view a B17,25 Mustangs, spitfire's, F4U's, this beauty and more. The sound of them alone is magical. I can't imagine what it must of felt like to sit on your porch in the morning, coffee and Cigar in hand. Then out of the blue the roar of 100's of these fly by. Must of been amazing. I am a Living historian, and a avid History lover. It isn't a profession for me just a hobby. I love to hear the stories the people of that erea have to tell. Never again will there be acts of Heroism on that scale.
