Description
I looked in my bug book for this pretty little butterfly, but couldn't find it :( Hence the name. :) This is probably the prettiest butterfly I have ever gotten close enough to shoot. :) So, that part alone makes me happy.
I wasn't sure how to present this; nothing really grabbed me ... and still not sure it does. But, I could postwork the thing to death and so much I'll start to hate it. LOL
So here it is. Like it or not. lol

Grow an "HERB YARDEN" Shari! Particularly Parsley, Dill Weed, & FENNEL! I "raise" these guys by gathering freshly lain eggs by the Mother-Flutterby & slowly FOLLOWING her upon her DETERMINED course to lay a bazzzzzillion eggs as FAST as she possibly CAN! Here they're called "Swallowtails" - The MALES have a little extension droplet on their LONGEST outter lower wing edges. Hence the name "Swallowtails" ... I was actually cleaning up a shot of a newly hatched Swallowtail just the other day - I GOTTA finish them up for you now! I "raise" mine inside HUGE clear plastic containers - drilled with LOTSA air-holes & for drainage. They HATCH in a couple of DAYS as TEENSIE wee black/brown & stark ORANGE specs... & GROWWWWWW like CRAZY into pale chartreuse green with BRITE bands of White & Back & "dots" of striking yellow - Till they nearly burst & then chrsysallize themselves on twigs.
