Description

Another collaboration with photos from Bea Slingsby (my neighbor). This is a comp of two photos of hers shot in Italy. I am amazed at older architecture! I've never been to Europe, but I'm ready lol. I could imagine drinking morning coffee looking out from that 2nd story garden :) Cheers all, Kurt

Also, has anyone noticed that when you upload here at r'r, that the color gamut, dynamic range and contrast is way off from the original file? This should "pop out", but looks pale. Arghhh..

Still a quite beautiful image, thank you Kurt and enjoy your trip in Europe... I will think to you when drinking my morning coffee every day! I have no problems of colors and contrasts when I upload probably because I use a "Mac"! TRES BON SEJOUR EN EUROPE... my friend!

Thanks all! And a note to Janis, I have been a Mac guy since 1985 ...(Started PS at version 2.0, Painter in the bucket at 1.0) Currently I use an I-Mac G-5, Duo intel MacBook, and an ancient 7600 :) Hence my confusion. All of my images color/contrast match everywhere except here at r'r. Web, Print, Litho all work very closely, including my CMYK settings for print. Try uploading an image here, then download that same image and compare.. a world of gamut/range difference. Subtle areas such as clouds will become invisible. When uploading a "high key" shot, the defects from the conversion algo is fine, as that the gamut of a high key photo is narrow. Cheers! Kurt

This is very quaint. Europe does sound devine, doesn't it? So much beauty and culture to soak up and stimulate the imagination. I've never been either but someday want to go. If you go you'll be snapping pics like mad and leaving your blues far behind. I'm not surprised you're a Mac guy - I mean you are an artist and a musician.:o) I'm a Mac addict, too, have been for years, got a G4 laptop and G5 with flatscreen - and the colors of my work look very different here on R'osity than my originals. Nice one. Though the changes have nothing to do with Mac or PC - they are a result of the compression software, used on this (Linux based) server - ImageMagic, GD or whatever they use.

Sorry about the broken heart....ouch. A trip to Europe sounds like a wonderful solution. Can I come? LOL. This is wonderful. I love that watercolory look it has and the fabulous textures. What a beautiful place this must be.
