I have been writing stories and poetry all of my life. My interest in art began when my Dad held my hand when I was about two years old and helped me to draw a face. Since then I have progressed through pencils and crayons through water colours and oils and finally I am doing most of my art on the computer. I have created all of the illustrations in my books and have a substantial art gallery here at Renderosity. I was born in England and travelled to Australia with my family when I was ten years old. We moved to Mount Gambier when I was a child and I returned here in the early 90s and have lived here since. My early life was filled with books and reading and every Christmas we always received a story book of some kind. I remember our book shelves being filled with the works of Kipling, Shakespeare, H. G. Wells, Jules Verne and Edgar Allen Poe, to name a few, together with a good smattering of Enid Blyton and many other children's authors. That early contact with books at my mother's knee inspired a love of reading and writing for which I will always be thankful.

Great way of pitching! Outstanding ... I have a few going to Lulu as well! Wish you the best of luck with them! An excerpt wouldn't hurt? Nice image illustration by the way! Well done!

Excellent. It is a wonderful story full of humour :)

Brilliant concept! Realization has its eternal problems, like wanting the light from one side and needing it from another. I think you've done a good job. I see some humor in the set, and I obviously appreciate that! To me the funniest thing is that she appears to intend to read three copies of the book, rather than reading one copy thrice. I think I have spotted some shortcoming with a familiar cause: using only one camera angle while building the set. Well, you may intentionally have placed the billboards at such angles as not to represent an open book (with the front and back pages swapped, as in many cartoons). (Otherwise, have a look from the top.) But then restore the girl to a comfortable reading position, and shift the billboards around - particularly the right one, in order to show the word "Read" without her having to tilt to her right. (Even if I should be wrong, do check the position of her hips and spine. I suggest using a back view camera.)

Excellent composition!

Her feet appear to be several inches off the ground. Wouldn't seem like a comfortable way to read? You might want to lose the mice. They draw attention away from girl. The overall composition/theme is good.

The mice are intentional. They direct the observer to the standing bookshop poster. After all I want people to buy my book. The mission of the mice in the book is to spread their messages far and wide. After meeting with the mice the story goes. "The Great Profit of the doG looked down at her feet and saw that indeed, where the mice had paused were a great many messages left by that small and furry gathering." There are actually shadows running from the feet back underneath the girl and from the standing posters shadows are running to the rear too. But maybe they are hard to see on some monitors as the shadows are a similar colour to the patterns in the floor.
