Description

I named this little girl 'India' as she became a bright (rather than sad) reminder for me of the final train trip I took in that country of the same name. I went with others to encourage the indigenous churches of the Andhra Pradesh district. We saw and ministered to situations of overwhelming need. 'India' and her grandmother were on our train from Vijaywada to the city of Hyderabad. They never got a seat until the train emptied out; uncomplainingly sitting on the carriage floor at the back, as beggars and food bearers came and went. She is a pretty girl with deep sad eyes that (like so many Indian kids) lit up when the 'foreigners' mimed a joke or got out a camera. I will remember her..
