Description

This massive Rhodo is over 9' tall. Now I don't know how tall they are supposed to get but this is the biggest one I have ever seen. I love it! It sits 30 feet from my office window view (you can judge it's height from the peak of the neighbors house. This year we are blessed with a special surprise. A Baltimore Oriole has made it's next in the upper part of the bush. While Orioles are known to be in this area, I've never seen the nests this close. Will it survive my two cats? hmmmmmmmm

This tree is full of beauty. And to be blessed with the nest. Kitty? Baby birds better be careful living next to the Lion's Den. Excellent shot. Aloha

Nice shot! A gorgeous plant - I bet you really enjoy looking at that every day! It's just fabulous, and I like your photograph very much. This particular variety, with it's lavender flowers, tends to get pretty big. There's one just like this a few miles from my house (near Seattle) that is as tall as the two-story house it lives next to. Different types of rhodys grow to be different sizes. This one looks really healthy, and there's no reason it can't get even bigger! Rhodys don't grow very fast, but if they like the conditions where they are, they live for a long time.
