Description

The third image in the set - those who found the last image a little extreme will perhaps be pleased to see a calmer type of postwork on this image (although it did take a lot more work than its simple sepia appearance belies). With this image, I aimed to emphasise the lighting of the subject. Thankyou all for you comments and criticisms, they're most welcome!

I like the partyhats in background that link it with last upload, my personal preference is always for a series. Although not exactly a smile it still demonstrates a happy contented feeling of mates hanging out together. Normally I wouldnt like the wasted space at top of image, but I think it works well in this case to create a spontinaety and casualness well suited to this portrait. Tonal range could use darkroom touchups. For example, his nose disappears into his furthest cheek. :^) good to see you are fine after the local floods. Looking forward to more of your uploads ...Di
