Description
False color infrared of last nights(June 8, 2007) shuttle launch. This is about 20-30 miles north of rebelmommy's pic. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1457848
The true sky color was perfect. We were just starting to hear and feel the rumble at the time of this capture.

Very cool fractal-like details!

I wish I could have been closer for the first launch. My sons and I spent the night in the little airport with the Easter Island figures with port holes in their heads. (The next day I had to be at work and saw it from Otis porch several hundred miles away.) This has some relevance to questions of why astronauts are not candidates for sainthood. Piety and humbleness with vision protect their future home.

Awesome, to be able to see this!! Guess it's one of those things that becomes almost routine to those lucky enough to live nearby, but for me, it's still a thrill and how I'd love to see it!
