very nice work. i spent quite a long time looking at the lower one, wondering what was wrong, until it finally dawned on me that it is a triplane...

What weird creatures they are, and near the end of the war too! One of the rear gunners actually has to stand up to attend his weapon. That must have been a drag in more ways than one. One good thing, I suppose the folk on the ground would be laughing too heartily to dodge the bombs. Apologies for my fun approach, but I take the quality of your work for granted. Mmm! I too had to look again to identify the triplane construct. What on earth are the things attached to the "stanchions?" (insert coin, choose drink!!)

Very cool. The U.S. Air force museum at Wright Patterson AFB has a 'CAPRONI CA. 36' on display. Its in superb shape. The copper is so shiny that the plane looks like a flying cappuccino machine. Here are a couple of fact sheets from the museum: http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=322 http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=695
