Description

In the past few months, I sort of rediscovered the music of Joni Mitchell, especially the mid to late 70s. In the process, I had almost forgotten that bass legend Jaco Pastorius played with her. I've listened to his work with Weather Report, but the music he made with Joni Mitchell is just incredible. Never heard anyone get such melodic and acrobatic sounds from a fretless bass and never will again. Unfortunately, personal demons cut his life short in 1987. This feeling of cruising real fast on a long winding highway popped into my head and the rest fell into place. *** Making the neck and strings was hard. Making it all fit to a terrain was harder. Not to mention the Bryce crash upon saving after a particularly long session.

Jaco Pastorius drives down the fretless J-bass road all the time. (wow did not read the intro and Jaco was the first person I thought of.)

Wow, I think you and I are on the same wavelength or something.. I just finished modeling a bass guitar on Sunday and posted it. Mine is not as cool as yours though, this is awesome! As always, your work inspires me to new levels. Keep it up Dave.
