Description

the city is so quiet its abandonded streets strangely surreal. I cross against the light. only the homeless seem at home wandering aimlessly through an empty house. up three concrete flights coasting down the ramps sliding across asphalt ribbons crossing town chopping it into blocks. black birds line a dull rectangular, ordinary building- nondescript otherwise. an otherwise spectacularly slient giant watching me sneaking out of town and slipping toward home again. home where no one waits. but I am not alone... my heart is so full you live in this place where I hold you eternally- and I am like the city strangely at peace...

This is a wonderful description of a city during it's uninhabited hours. I remember driving through Seattle early on a Sunday morning - it's quite eerie.

Lovely descriptive words! I'm browsing the gallery to find what I've missed, and discover another writer. We are few here, welcome a little late. We have some challenges going. A poetry in motion and a Summer Haiku, we can always use more wordsmiths. BJ

The city is empty and your heart is full. Such an intriguing contrast. However both, no doubt, are probably exaggerations. But by how much I must wonder? Things just dont come as clear as wed like, one must presume. I think... But your description of slipping through the city is dead on. We just can't see it all, as is with everything. I would think...
