Description
Nikon 7900 image.
Another group of mushrooms I thought presented an appealing composition. I have found that by turning my little pocket camera upside down and almost touching the ground with it, I can get a nice pov for mushroome. It is also one of the few times I use the flash. By doing so, I can get light to the underside of the shrooms and help bring out the ribbing. Usually the flash is useless for macros but in some of these mushroom cases, it actually helps I think.

Oh yes, you've mastered the art of upside down photography beautifully in this shot Lee!! Wonderful POV and superb colours, textures and lighting - yes, the flash has worked well to your advantage without casting those awful shadows that can normally ruin a great macro. Excellent capture. xx

I am so glad you explained that about the flash because I was wondering how you got that light underneath but it wasn't the same on the tops. Isn't it marvelous that these shrooms were kind enough to group themselves just right for you? Very nice shot with good texture and interest.
