Description
Not a word was spoke between us,
there was little risk involved
Everything up to that point
had been left unresolved.
Try imagining a place where
it's always safe and warm.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."
I was burned out from exhaustion,
buried in the hail,
Poisoned in the bushes
an' blown out on the trail,
Hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."
I've heard newborn babies
wailin' like a mournin' dove
And old men with broken teeth
stranded without love.
Do I understand your question, man, is it hopeless and forlorn?
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."
Bob Dylan
Good Evening All!
A little rougher paint job than I usually do. ;)
I hope that you are all having a good week and that wherever you live, and
whatever you may be doing, the storms pass you by, and you are content, cozy and happy.
Your thoughts are always welcomed, your words appreciated greatly. Thank you for your inspiration!
Hugs, :)

This has a wonderful Mother-Goddess feel to it, serene and protective. I love the hair, of course, and the light. The darkness in the center makes me feel like I could walk in and be perfectly safe and cared for. Beautiful image!

Very nice, Jill. I like the "rough" touch, it goes with the Dylan lyrics. Some people find a shelter and in the process leave someone else alone without any. Fortunately, there are many generous and kind souls to pick up the pieces of the one left in the storm. Sleep well, Jill. Hugs, Suzanne

Fantastic! The colours in this are once again brilliant. They fit these Dylan lyrics perfectly.

I've always adored that song. It seems we are all searching for shelter from the storms of our life that blow us in unexpected directions. We want to be safe, protected, and loved. I see the woman you painted with two sides, one giving and the other needing. Perhaps I see some of myself in her. It is a compelling work. CC

Very effective, emotionally powerful and strong compositionally as well, the figure dominates both the foreground and bg through the extensions of her hair.

What a great piece of art. Beautiful.

Thoughtful? Melancholy? Perhaps forlorn as in Dylan's lyrics? One cannot help but want to hold and comfort her. Emotions of unknown depth are conveyed as I continue to look at the painting. Thank you for sharing. egmont

This matches splendid with Dylan's Lyrics. I think this is your real style, no words are needed. It's just perfect ;O)

there is a good energy in your art :)

I think the 'little rougher paint job' as you put it, totally works. The way the hair sorta transistions from hair to a soft wavy translucent boarder was truly creative. I'm reminded for some reason of Edvard Munch. Wonderful piece

She looks as if she is sheltering something special from the storm. A truly lovely and quite emotional piece of artwork!!

Always good to come back a second time :) I have to agree with Talt in every word & your faces always have a strong emotional expression. But I am back because of the rough style you mentioned, I think it is exactly that what makes the whole thing more alive, there is more movement, also I have to agree about the Munch touch :) Wonderful work no doubt Jilly, have a good one, hugs always :)
