Imagine trying to run up these with a shield and a sword. While people are throwing rocks at you.

Well sure it was a hard time back then, this narrow path leads in the belly of the castle....excelent shot.

Yes we don't realize how hard they had it back then they must of been super fit to do that, imagine us doing that now we would be puffing and panting before we got half way up lol. Excellent shot love the lighting and composition.

@ 42n8: LOL - yeah, I'd be needing to stop for a ciggy half way too!! Another superb capture David. And again, the POV is fantastic - you have captured the magnitude of this historic place brilliantly. xx

It seems they used catapults. Just in this place I count 4 diferent type of rocks. So it was rebuild 3 times at least in this place. It looks like the chevaliers door, not the main gate.

David, another wonderful composition! The path really draws you into the picture. What was thru the gate?

While all of your shots in this series have been excellent, this one has some personal meaning for me, so I'm hijacking it straight to my favorites! Thanks for taking a photograph of something that had previously only existed for me in my imagination!
Janiss
