Hi, my name is Karl Stöcker, and I was born a long time ago, way too long, in Berchtesgaden, Germany, grew up in Düsseldorf, and since 1966 have been in the US (mostly). I've traveled a lot, 46 countries by this time, and I am planning on many more. I've spent a couple of decades in the US military, active and reserve, and since retirement from civil service, worked off and on as a high school science teacher in a suburb of Sacramento. Ever since my original ID's Doom days, back when it was just released on a floppy disk as a free level advertisement, I was interested in learning about 3D CGI, but I didn't get started until I retired from civil service in 1996. Since then I have been working with Truespace, Bryce, then Lightwave 3D, and Vue. Also dabbled a little in Poser 4, but just bought Poser 6 and am starting sink my teeth into that a bit. My website, http://www.cosmic-pearl.com/, has more details on me, should anyone not be bored to tears by now, also there are LW Viking ship and Star Wars X-Wing tutorials, as well as downloadable meshes (which can be imported into Vue, BTW) - my free stuff to the CG community.

Nice! Too bad the only appearance the T16 makes is the toy Luke idly plays with in an early scene.

Truth be told, I know very little about Vue, and am just feeling my way around. I get into it, from time to time, and learn and relearn, when I do. Actually, it is pretty easy to get something decent set up, although, there are people here on Rendo who can design rings around me. Real masters of the software. Here and there I get lucky.

Like you said, the Womp Rats better shot through real quick, nothing like a few photon torpedoes to bring down the canyon walls ! Kool sci-fi action, well done ! ~Cheers~ :o)

Great wing of skyhoppers and I love the Jawa-eye view here. Well done!

Great image. What version of Vue do you use? Does it support motion blur? I think it could further enhance the image. I would also expect a bit more contrast in the shadows for so strong sun just-in-the-lens. Together, it
s a great, moody render. I have Vue 3 and it
s not easy to get so good output with it! Another very nice fact is that the model can be d/loaded-and that it is made with my favorite program. PS. Thx for your helpful comment how to prepare tea ;) I think just the infusion time was not long enough, though adding these worms could help-if these objects were not meant to be made free stuff ;)pixeltek
In case anyone wondered what that was all about. Silgrin was looking for a metal texture, and I recelled that the 'Worm of Art" have some great tutorials out there of how to make excellent metal textures (or you can buy their LW presets directly) http://www.the-worms-of-art.com/ By the way, the shadow thing he mentioned did not take into consideration a) two suns, and b) all the reflection from that massive amount of sunlight from the bright desert. That's a great 'fill light'.
