The Inuit have always enjoyed a variety of games and sports. Skills developed by these games were often those necessary for everyday survival in the harsh environment. Thus, the games concern physical strength, agility, and endurance. Many Inuit games are traditional and require no equipment. The world record for this event is a jump of 96. The target is raised a few inches in each round, and players are eliminated when they fail to kick the target. The suspended object, often a rolled-up piece of sealskin, is tied to a string and hoisted gradually higher as competitors take turns trying to kick it until only one player is left. Three attempts per turn are allowed. Contestants can use one or two feet and try to land with the same foot or feet to attempt the one-foot high kick or the two-foot high kick. The One-hand reach is very challenging. The player must balance on two hands while reaching up with one hand. This is my old classmate and a good friend anguti which means boy but his english name is Thomas.
