Description

This bridge was built back in the 30's by a government scheme for the unemployed..the paid them 2 bob per single man and 5 for a married man per week..food and tents were supplied for sleeping, rather a chilly place in winter for a tent and no hot water! but times were tough and i guess back in those days that was decent pay for a hard days work. as you can see by the thumbnail, this was how they started building the bridge which took around 5 years to officially open...and the road leads up to a beautiful mountain top, Paluma, which is 2935 feet or so above sea level...what a view!

love the textures and colors on the stones. My dad was in the CCC. He did not build this bridge but it keep him alive.

One of the very few bridges that I don't see any graffitti. Lot of history passed thru this bridge. Excellent shot. Aloha
