Description

The Cholla around Santa Fe are starting to bloom. They have such beautiful purple blooms that I always find myself trying to capture them in pictures before they wither away.

there are definitely thorns :) I've gotten too close on occasion and had a hard time walking cause the thorns pierced my shoes.

This is striking.........the comparison between the thorns and the silky-looking petals, together with the softness of background light is quite lovely.
