Description

Thought I'd take a short break from doing my insect illustrations and do another 3D still life. Still lifes make personal statements through the placement and relationship of selected inanimate objects and lighting within a specific environment. My still life is not just randomly chosen aesthetic items with interesting lighting. All of the models and textures are my originals. The gentle lighting and colour palette creates a familiar, warm emotional feeling, like an old memory flooding back. It relates personally to my life and to the people, interests and environments that moulded it. As you view the image a story will start to unfold as you are invited to travel and explore aspects of my physical and emotional surrounds. ...Di (Hexagonal Mandala)

I love how this picture just draws your eye into finding more detail in it. Very nice brickwork on the walls, and I love the spray of eucalyptus in the bottom left hand corner. A beautiful image full of life and discoveries.
