Description
This guy was attracted to the cod by a horde of seagulls fighting over it - needless to say, the gulls scattered when he showed up. He's an adolescent bald eagle, and like all teens, he's constantly hungry - He ate the whole thing, including the fins and tail. Yacck.
Captured in Seward, AK, near the docks, at about ten o'clock at night. Amazing how well the Canon image stabilization works, even at full zoom and a quarter-second shutter. So if the color seems a little funny, it's because it was nearly dark at the time.

I was thinking of a snack, but now I'm going to wait awhile. Yes I was a teenager, and actually ate one of those hostess fruit pies being so hungry. Precisely on turning 20, I decided that I didn't need any more of them. Wonder if the same thing happens to eagles. Caviar anyone?
