Description

If I had a super telephoto lens I wouldn't have to resort to chasing dragonflies from one end of the garden to the other. But I don't...so began the chase. I'd make one move; he'd make a move and so on and on. The fact that dragonflies don't understand English didn't stop me from coaxing it to stay put and stop flitting from one flower to the next. Sometimes I wonder who's having a better time, me or the bystanders watching me as I try to get that perfect shot. Thanks for viewing. Make it a great day!

LOL! I was doing the same thing with a dragonfly the other day. Never did get the shot though! Wonderful capture here... they're so hard to shoot since they never stay still, yet you managed to get one hell of a good shot! Bravo!

I find your commentary very illuminating and though there is humor when it comes to bystanders, having found myself many times in similar shoes. From a technical point, know that a telephoto lens would not have provided you with a sharp image throughout the length of the dragonfly, so your efforts have paid off more than handsomely. The dragonfly is a species I am not familiar with right off hand, but feel its beauty is that of a jewel and your image has immortalized its life. I am downloading the image to my favorite folder. Never before saw such a color scheme on a dragonfly. The browns and yellows work so well here. Down south ours are more green & blue; at least the ones I've always seen since a child. Nice catch.
