Description

I have this 'thing' in my garden and normally just rip it out, but this year I let it grow. It's now about 6ft tall, and flowering. Took some pics of it yesterday, and every flower has these like 'eyes' in it... Some are really quite freaky! Lol Thank you for all your comments and ratings on my other uploads. And thank you so much for the favourites! That still shocks me! Lol Tracey

I believe it's a hollyhock. (Related to the malva, actually!) Anyway, it's quite beautiful. You might want to stop pulling them out! :)

auntietk is correct, this is a Hollyhock (Althaea rosea) [Malvaceae] and a very beautiful flower. I would let it grow from now on too. Wonderful capture and postwork Tracey!

I love this flower!!! Looks like it's calling out for a bee! I wish it was a bit smaller so I could see the whole thing (maybe 1200px or 1000px wide) Other than that...it's perfect! The post work (framing) is real fitting! :o)b
