Description
This scene ,which reminds me of a model railway layout,is very close to where the Caledonian Canal meets the sea inlet of the Moray firth by Inverness. The rail line links Inverness to Wick.
My attention was grabbed by the huge bubbling mass of water. This would be the lower lock being filled from the section occupied by the yacht. In the lower right of the image is a signal box and this signal man is kept busy but not by the trains which are infrequent. If you look bottom left you can see a figure in a bright safety jacket. He is waiting to operate the controls for the swing bridge, he has already opened the door to the control hut.
