"Don't be yourself. Be someone a little nicer." ~ Mignon McLaughlin, journalist and author (1913-1983)
I spent most of the day in the garden yesterday. I bit the bullet and bought a new lawnmower, so tackled the knee-high grass and tropical vegetaions in the hot Florida sun. And let me tell you, the gnats are out in full force. Stop moving for a few seconds and those little critters are on you like stink on a pig. Eyes, nose, ears -- nothing is sacred. Superb capture, there is a lot of motion in this shot. I know this little critters, they can be very inconveniently.

That's the only real bummer about Summer...biting critters ! I guess you could do as some Africian's do and wipe cow dung all over yourself, but I think I'll stick to the lotion from the Chemist thanks ! Scary capture Kort & ~Cheers~ :o)

Wonderful capture of these tiny bugs - I hate them but they just love me to bits!! A great sense of motion in this shot and the full view is great too. xx

Splendid capture, a dreamy place for all those gnats ;O)
oscilis
I loathe them but you have made a super image that shows just how sneakily they flit around. Their Scottish equivalent (midges) fly around in clouds. It's like walking into a bed of nettles.

with all our rain this year they are in abundance here also.I always hated to go to a house to work that waters a lot because one would have to pass the gauntlet of those pesky creatures.excellent capture.our normal rain for all of June is .34" and we are at nearly 7" and the month is not over

LOL...I would have called it quits mowing the lawn if these critters were out in full force. Aloha
goodoleboy
At first glance it looks like either a swarm of gnats or a field of stars. But, after close scrutiny, they're definitely gnats, and gnuts to gnats! Is there no defense against these annoying critters? A killer spray, laser weapons, a force field, anything?
nikolais
part of the big great food chain same as we are. always enjoy th way you find your subjects

cool shot...I'm getting itchy now! lol

Nasty lil buggers. I can't believe you even stood there long enough to take the shot! You must have been eaten alive. Poor thing. But yay for you on 'biting the bullet' and cutting the lawn. I 'bit' the bullet' yesterday too, with my upload, lol. I think my 'bullet' was a whole lot easier to deal with though. LOL. Have a great evening Kortalouieeeee! -M :^)

My Gran told me a secret, if you cover yourself in lavender, they don't bite. She was right and I smell pretty good too. BJ
