Description
Dear friends, I went to Guadalajara to do a story on the organization " Mi Gran Esperanza" My big hope. They provide financial, psychological and moral support to children with cancer and their families. The stories were heart wrenching because of the economical struggles these people endure. Most fathers can not cope with the pain and they split leaving the mothers with all the burden of the ill baby plus the care of the other offspring. The group of doctors and volunteers that took this wing 8 years ago found themselves with the dismal rate of 8 kids dying out of 10. Today 7 kids survive out of 10.
Moana "Mona" has been in coma twice, her prognosis is much better now.

Wow what a powerful POV Excellent shot depicting their fight for cancer, it would make a great charity card or promote the plight of their carers. Wishing them all well in their recovery, glad the little girls getting stronger hope it continues.

Firstly, I'm stunned at the number of views this has to the ratio of comments??? Perhaps it being such a powerful, heart-wrenching photograph leaves some people lost for words... and that is understandable. Finding the right words is so hard. I think you have created a very emotional shot here that would serve well on a campaign poster. The look in Moana's eyes, almost willing her audience to believe in her fight for life - I do believe she will make it through, she has such a will and determination in her eyes. Excellent journalistic photography. xx

Thank you all for your comments, of all the stories I have covered this was one of the hardest. Mi hat off to the mothers who prevail against all odds. I will be uploading more photos with the same explanation and a note on the particular photo. Tnaks again! Andres

Friend, my heart leaves when seeing the children suffer from so small with this illness so ugly. I cannot make anything, but if I have faith in God, Jesus is my savior and to the I request him for them. If you see it tells him that from Argentinean there are people that pray for her. You made well in showing this. My commitment this fact. God this with you always. Roby ;O)
